This package includes a 2013 model Kite suited to beginners but still great once you are ripping, Bar and Lines, a Pump, a Harness, a Board suited for starting out and intermediate riding and a beginners instructional DVD, a rash vest and a helmet. The only other things you should need is lessons, a wetsuit, a ride to the beach and some wind.

First select which model of kite you would like. A quick trip to our kites page will give you more info on the models available. But both the kites here are suited to learning and quick progression but they still pack a shed load of performance for once you are at intermediate or even pro level.
Smaller kites turn faster, have a bigger wind range but have less pull. They are generally used for lighter riders and in stronger winds. Bigger kites are slower but give more float when jumping and are used by bigger riders and in lighter winds. Many kitesurfers will have 2 or 3 kites in their quiver to cover all winds strengths. For starting out it is easiest to learn in winds from 14-20Knots. Here is a guide showing the size of kite a beginner will get the most benefit from.

Under 55kg - 7m

65 - 79 KG - 10m

100kg and up - 14m +
When Choosing a board
Bigger boards are generally better in light winds and for heavier riders and they are also easier to learn on. But go too big and its likely your will be wanting to change it after just a few months. Smaller boards are easier to manouvre and better in stronger winds. Once you are over the hurdle of having your first few runs dialed in they are better for progressing. We would recommend the 138cm Blade Sanchez to heavier riders and 134cm Blade Sanchez for everyone else. The 130 cm would be a child or very light rider board. All sizes are a superb starter and intermediate boards, but many pro riders are also using them so they wont hold you back.
